Workplace Drug Swabbing

Published: 25th October 2017 - All information correct at time of publication.

Is your workplace drug free?

Illegal drugs are used every day by 220,000 adults in England & Wales.  A further 800,000 people use drugs every week.  Another 1.8 million acknowledge taking a banned substance at least once a year.  That brings the total number of drug users to around 2.8 million people, or one in 12.

Could you spot the signs of substance misuse in the workplace?

SYNLAB Laboratory Services can provide analysis of surface swabs for the following most commonly abused substances, whether your workplace be an office, restaurant or vehicle:

  • Cocaine
  • Amphetamines
  • Methamphetamines
  • Heroin
  • Methadone
  • Cannabis
  • Buprenorphine
  • Ketamine
  • Benzodiazepines
  • Barbiturates

Additional tests can be offered to identify the presence of other substances such as Novel Psychoactive Substances (NPS).
