Drug & Alcohol Testing:

Network Rail Drug & Alcohol Testing

Are you a SYNLAB Laboratory Services customer who uses our services for Network Rail employee testing? Please read on for some important reminders when booking your sample collection appointment:

At SYNLAB Laboratory Services, we pride ourselves on the high-quality standard of our drug and alcohol collection and testing service. As a RISQS approved supplier it’s important that we comply with the specifications and standards of the UK rail industry’s drug and alcohol testing requirements – one of these is the upload of drug and alcohol test results to Sentinel if a member of staff holds a PTS card.

Next time you are booking a collection for a Network Rail employee, please:

  • Inform the Duty Manager at the point of booking that the collection/test is required for a Network Rail profile
  • When onsite our Collection Technician will then be prompted to ask the donor if they are a PTS card holder
  • In the event that the member of staff does hold a PTS card and has informed the Collection Technician, following analysis, the results will then be uploaded to Sentinel as required
  • As usual, the customer requesting the collection will need to quote their account PIN, they can contact our Customer Services team in advance if they don’t have this to hand

If you are an existing customer using our services for Network Rail testing and have any questions on the steps above, please contact our Customer Services team on 01873 856688 or email [email protected]

If you are an existing customer and didn’t know we were able to carry out testing for Network Rail employees, please get in touch! Our team would welcome the opportunity to discuss how we are able to help in further detail.
